The congressman from Louisiana’s Fifth District, who is now running for governor, has yet to offer any cogent explanation for breaking his pledge to donate his salary to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Veterans Independence Fund or evidence of any donations he ever made.

Instead, he dismissed the reporting as fake news, while his campaign team scrambles for an explanation.
